HC Deb 07 March 1917 vol 91 c385
59. Mr. HANSON

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he is aware of the urgent character of many of the claims of British creditors of the Deutsche and other German banks with branches in London; and, if it is for the Courts to decide whether the surplus assets of the London agencies of the banks are avail able for the satisfaction of British creditors of the head offices, will be endeavour to expedite the hearing of these cases which are now before the Courts so that if a favourable decision is given the assets can be distributed?

Mr. BONAR LAW

This matter is in the hands of the Court, and the Court no doubt realises the importance of coming to an early decision.
