HC Deb 06 March 1917 vol 91 c229
73. Mr. CLANCY

asked the Chief Secretary whether he is now prepared to announce the decision of the Government as to the assistance to be given towards the housing of the working classes in Dublin, in reference to which he raised expectations in a speech delivered by him in the immediate neighbourhood of Dublin several months ago?

Mr. DUKE

The restrictions on borrowing for the purpose of capital expenditure during the War are still operative, and there is no probability of relaxation in the near future.
