HC Deb 05 March 1917 vol 91 c17
66. Mr. WATT

asked the Secretary for Scotland whether his attention has been called to the fact that several assessors in Scotland are assessing for rates the plots of ground in populous areas that have been dug up by voluntary effort in order to increase the output of potatoes and vegetables as food for the people; will he say whether this action has the sanction of the Scottish Local Government Board; and whether he proposes to take action regarding it?

The SECRETARY for SCOTLAND (Mr. Munro)

I have received a communication on this subject from Glasgow, and I am making inquiries into the matter and will inform my hon. and learned friend of the result.
