HC Deb 05 March 1917 vol 91 cc20-1
32. Mr. GINNELL

asked the Home Secretary whether his attention has been called to a printed document now in free circulation in this country which states that, irrespective of former Governmental action, it is hereby made known to all men everywhere that no Government which after due protest persists in casting free men into bondage can any longer be regarded by liberty-loving Americans as having a place in the family of civilised nations; and, having regard to the deportation of Irishmen without charge or trial and the consequent danger to this country of the doctrine quoted, what action he proposes to take with reference to it?

Sir G. CAVE

I have not seen any such document, but if the hon. Member describes its contents correctly I am unable to detect in it any danger to this country.
