HC Deb 28 June 1917 vol 95 c506
13. Mr. FIELD

asked the Chief Secretary for Ireland whether he is aware that many resolutions have been passed and a desire expressed to have a wages board established in Dublin city; and whether he will consider the advisability of complying with this request?

The MINISTER of LABOUR (Mr. Hodge)

My right hon. Friend has asked me to answer this question. One of the resolutions referred to has been received and, as I have informed the hon. Member on previous occasions, inquiries are being made into the conditions prevailing in a number of trades to which the application of the Trade Boards Act has been suggested, including certain trades carried on in Dublin. The hon. Member will, of course, understand that adequate time must be allowed for inquiries of this nature.
