HC Deb 21 June 1917 vol 94 c1937
70. Mr. NUGENT

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food if he is aware that persons in Liverpool obtaining potatoes from Ireland under licence have been charging at the rate of £14 10s. a ton to retail traders; if this is in excess of the price fixed by the Food Controller for the sale of potatoes; and, if so, what steps he proposes to take in the matter?

Mr. BRIDGEMAN

I am not aware that retail traders have been charged the price stated which would appear to be in excess of the authorised charge. Immediate inquiry will be made and the Ministry of Food will be glad if the hon. Member will assist by furnishing further particulars.
