HC Deb 21 June 1917 vol 94 cc1962-3
74. Mr. COOTE

asked the Minister of Labour whether it is his intention to establish additional Employment Exchanges in Ireland; if so, whether he will consider the advisability of opening an exchange in county Tyrone; will he state on what basis Employment Exchanges are graded; and what is the grade of each of the Employment Exchanges at present established in Ireland?

Mr. BRIDGEMAN

The general question of establishing new Exchanges is under consideration, and the advisability of establishing an Exchange in county Tyrone will be considered. The grading of Exchanges depends on a number of factors, one of the most important of which is the volume of work performed, but owing to the present abnormal and temporary conditions no general rules can usefully be applied at the moment. I am sending to my hon. Friend a list showing the grade of officer in charge of each of the Exchanges in Ireland.
