HC Deb 19 June 1917 vol 94 cc1608-9
55. Mr. BYRNE

asked the Prime Minister if he will state the quantity of petrol used in England for the past twelve months; if he will state the quantity used in Ireland for the same period; if he will make arrangements for an equal distribution of petrol for the future; and if he will see that Irish applicants will receive an equal supply to that allowed to English applicants engaged on similar work?

Mr. ROBERTS

The Prime Minister has asked me to answer this question. I am not in a position to state precisely what quantity of petrol has been used in in England and in Ireland respectively during the last twelve months. As regards the last part -of the question, I am informed by the Petrol Control Committee that application for motor spirit licences received from Ireland have been dealt with in precisely the same way as those received from England.
