HC Deb 13 June 1917 vol 94 cc917-8
2. Colonel LESLIE WILSON

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether he is now in a position to announce the amendments to the King's Regulations and Admiralty Instructions on the subject of the increase of pensions to Marine noncommissioned officers?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the ADMIRALTY (Dr. Macnamara)

I am glad to say that the Departments concerned have now arrived at an agreement as to the concession that can be granted to warrant officers, 2nd class, and non-commissioned officers of the Royal Marines who complete time for pension during the War and are retained in the Service under Royal Proclamation. The proposals need the sanction of his Majesty in Council, and as soon as this has been obtained the new maximum rates will be announced.
