HC Deb 12 June 1917 vol 94 c753
11. Mr. PETO

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that the deputation of the Parliamentary Injured Soldiers' Committee was informed by the Secretary of State for War on the 8th May that he would consult the Law Officers of the Crown as to the acceptance of the offer of Mr. Barker and other manipulative surgeons to give free treatment to injured soldiers; and whether he has received this information and can communicate it to the House?

Mr. MACPHERSON

The Law Officers have not yet given their opinion on the points submitted to them.

Mr. PETO

Will the hon. Gentleman take some steps to get an early decision in the matter, seeing-that great interest is taken in it by some 300 Members of this House?

Mr. MACPHERSON

I have asked to-day that the opinion should be expedited.
