HC Deb 12 June 1917 vol 94 c751
40. Mr. C. WASON

asked the Minister of Munitions if his attention has been called to the case of Mr. W. F. Hamilton, a gardener in the employ of Lieutenant Whitaker, Royal Naval Reserve, who seems to have been induced to join as a volunteer the Army Reserve (Munitions); and if, under all the circumstances and the importance of growing the maximum amount of food, and also that a substitute could be obtained, he will allow Mr. Hamilton to return to his employment for at any rate six months?

Mr. KELLAWAY

Arrangements have been made to release Mr. Hamilton from munitions work at once if he is prepared to take up work upon the land.
