HC Deb 07 June 1917 vol 94 c319
44. Mr. HUGH BARRIE

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware that, owing to the absence of Sunday morning trains, inconvenience and loss of time are being caused to many munition workers, who are expected to start work not later than 7.45 a.m. on Sundays and who require to travel from Bangor, Comber, Holywood, and Carrick-fergus into Belfast; whether he is aware that at present no train reaches Belfast on the County Down line until 9.30 a.m. and on the Midland line until 9 a.m. on Sundays; and, in these circumstances, will he arrange with the Irish Railway Executive to provide the necessary early trains so long as the present necessity for Sunday working continues?

Mr. ROBERTS

I am asking the Irish Railway Executive Committee for their observations on this matter, and will communicate with the hon. Gentleman on receipt of their reply.
