HC Deb 07 June 1917 vol 94 cc326-7
57. Major NEWMAN

asked the Prime Minister whether he is aware of the disappointment caused to the British-born population of London by the failure of the Government to immediately pass into law the Military Service (Conventions with Allied States) Bill; and when is it intended to proceed with this measure?

Sir G. CAVE

As was announced yesterday, this Bill will be proceeded with to-morrow.

Major NEWMAN

Will it be proceeded with to-morrow energetically and pressed forward?

Sir G. CAVE

Certainly.

Mr. KING

Will it be considered in Committee of the Whole House, or sent to Grand Committee?

Sir G. CAVE

No doubt it will be considered in Committee of the Whole House.
