HC Deb 07 June 1917 vol 94 cc323-4
49. Mr. CATHCART WASON

asked the Prime Minister if, in view of the number of Members who have lost their lives or been wounded during the War, he will consider a suitable design for a Roll of Honour to honour their memory?

Sir G. CAVE

The hon. Member's suggestion will be sympathetically considered by the Government.

Sir HENRY CRAIK

As to the proposed Roll of Honour, is the right hon. Gentleman aware that St. Margaret's Church is the parish church of this House, and could it not be placed there?

Sir G. CAVE

I will convey the suggestion to the Leader of the House, and I have no doubt he will bear it in mind.

Colonel BURN

Will the Government appoint a small Committee to deal with this matter, and ascertain the feeling of the House as to whether Members' sons, who lost their lives in the War, should be included in the memorial put up by this House?

Sir G. CAVE

I will communicate the suggestion of the hon. and gallant Gentleman to the Leader of the House, and I have no doubt he will bear it in mind.
