HC Deb 05 June 1917 vol 94 cc16-7
21. Mr. HOUSTON

asked the number of wharves at Duala and Tiko, West Coast of Africa, respectively, and the depth of water alongside these wharves?

Sir L. CHIOZZA MONEY

According to the information at my disposal, there is only one wharf of any consequence at Duala. It has a depth of water of 23 feet. There are two or three other wharves suitable only for lighters. As to Tiko, there is one wharf 450 feet long at this place, with a depth of 16 feet alongside.
