HC Deb 05 June 1917 vol 94 c27
55. Mr. BYRNE

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether persons in receipt of the old age pension are entitled to draw Army pensions for loss of sons or other relatives who were supporting them before the War; if he will say whether Army authorities are entitled to deduct old age pension from Army allowances or pensions which parents are entitled to for the death of their sons in the War; and if he will say whether persons drawing Army funds will be allowed to draw old age pensions?

Mr. BALDWIN

The first and second parts of this question should be addressed to the Ministry of Pensions. The answer to the third part is that a person in receipt of Army pension can draw an old age pension, provided that his means, including the Army pension, do not exceed the statutory limit and he is otherwise entitled.
