HC Deb 13 July 1917 vol 95 cc2297-8
48. Mr. MACMASTER

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether the privilege hitherto accorded to nurses of the Red Cross and the Voluntary Aid Detachments of obtaining return railway journeys at single fare has been withdrawn; and, if so, whether he will consider the desirability of this concession still being continued to them, in view of-the fact that the same privilege is granted to Army nurses, and that in consequence of the number of casualties at the front their services are in urgent demand?

Mr. MACPHERSON

The question of railway concessions to Red Cross and Voluntary Aid Detachment nurses is under consideration with the Board of Trade.
