HC Deb 13 July 1917 vol 95 c2288
40. Mr. BILLING

asked the Prime Minister whether he will appoint a Commission to inquire into and report upon the administration of the Air Service during the past twelve months; and, if so, whether he will arrange that the Commission should include, as to half its number, representatives of recognised aeronautical constructors in this country, thus enabling the Commission to appreciate and understand the evidence submitted and prepare a just and impartial Report?

Mr. BONAR LAW

The answer is in the negative.

Mr. BILLING

Has the right hon. Gentleman had any occasion to read the transcript of the notes of the evidence before the previous air inquiry and compare it with the incident which happened on Saturday?

Mr. BONAR LAW

I read very carefully the Report of that inquiry, and I am surprised that the hon. Member wishes another.

Mr. BILLING

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that I shall continue to wish for inquiries until reform has taken place?
