§ 77. Sir SAMUEL ROBERTSasked the Minister of Munitions whether he has received complaints from munition firms and others as to the shortage of supply and distribution of petrol in the City of Sheffield; whether he is aware that, owing to the nature of the gradients, the demand is disproportionately large; and whether, in order to secure economical and proper user, he will consider the advisability of entrusting both of these matters to a small local committee of business men whose knowledge would enable them to meet the present difficulties?
§ Sir WORTHINGTON EVANSI understand there has been a temporary shortage in the Sheffield area, though no specific complaints either as to supply or distribution have been made to the Ministry. This shortage has now been 2113 remedied, and I do not think the situation calls for any such steps as are suggested in the last part of the question.
