§ 31. Mr. HOGGEasked the Financial Secretary to the War Office whether the Whitechurch Mental Hospital has been taken over by the War Office and is now known as the Welsh Metropolitan War Hospital; if so, will he state the terms of the agreement under which the transfer was effected; whether he will define the military status of the staff under the terms 1745 of the agreement; and whether the wife of every male member of the staff is entitled to separation allowance?
§ Mr. FORSTERThe answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. The hospital was taken over under the scheme arranged with the Board of Control to govern such cases. The subordinate staff remain subject to the conditions and terms of their civil employment, and separation allowance is not issuable in respect of them.
