§ Sir W. EVANSThese mines were last worked in 1862. They have been inspected, so far as the state of their workings would allow, by a representative of the Mineral Resources Department of the Ministry. They do not give sufficient encouragement to warrant the large expenditure that would be necessary to reopen them.
