WASONasked the Secretary to the Admiralty if it is by Admiralty orders that steamers from Aberdeen to Lerwick are prohibited from crossing direct; whether he is aware that, in consequence, much perishable food, meat and fish, becomes useless; and, in view of the fact that an armed vessel continually crosses said, to carry mails only, will he inquire if it is possible to utilise this cruiser or destroyer at least once a week as a convoy?
