Mr. CHANCELLORasked the President of the Local Government Board whether the scheme for establishing a public health laboratory, recommended by a joint committee of the senate of the University College of Bangor and of local medical men, involves any contribution from rates or taxes towards its main- 1598 tenance; whether living animals are to be used for experimental research in this institution; and whether, if so, he will withhold his approval of any subsidy out of public moneys which are compulsorily provided in part by those who disapprove of vivisection?
