§ 48. Mr. W. THORNEasked the Prime Minister if he had received a resolution from the Lord Mayor of London, which was passed on Thursday, 15th February, declaring that the invasion of Belgium and France by the German armies threatens the very existence of independent nationalities and strikes a blow at all faith in treaties, a victory for German imperialism would be the defeat and the destruction of democracy and liberty in Europe, and agrees that the fight should continue until victory is achieved; and whether he proposes to make any statement on the subject?
§ Mr. BONAR LAWThe Prime Minister has received the resolution referred to. The resolution so exactly represents the views and the intentions which have already been expressed on behalf both of the Government and the people of this country that no further statement seems necessary.
