§ 31. Mr. FELLasked the Home Secretary if he has taken steps, with regard to the asylums and institutions under his Department, to have the scale of diet reduced, for both the officials and inmates, to that now enjoined on the general public by the Food Controller?
§ The SECRETARY of STATE for the HOME DEPARTMENT (Sir G. Cave)The scales of diet in asylums are under the control of the local authorities. The Board of Control is in communication with the local authorities, and finds them anxious to do their utmost to conform to the Food Controller's standards. Similar action is being taken in the case of other institutions connected with my Department.
