§ 59. Mr. EVELYN CECILasked the Home Secretary whether he has yet received the Report of the Committee appointed to consider the reintroduction of so-called summer time for Greenwich time during the summer months; and whether he can state what decision has been arrived at by His Majesty's Government?
§ 64. Captain BARNETTasked whether it is proposed to bring the Summer Time Act into operation at Easter or at some earlier, and what date; and, if so, whether the Shops (Earlier Closing) Order can be allowed to lapse on that date instead of on 30th April as at present arranged?
§ Sir G. CAVEI am informed that the Committee have settled their Report, 1458 which will reach me to-day. I hope to be able to announce the decision of the Government very shortly—possibly in the course of next week; but in the meantime I may say that the Committee unanimously recommend the reintroduction of summer time.
§ Captain BARNETTWill the right hon. Gentleman answer the last part of my question about the Shop Hours Closing Order?
§ Sir G. CAVEI am considering that question.
