HC Deb 20 February 1917 vol 90 cc1142-3
21. Mr. LYNCH

asked the Under-Secretary for War whether he is aware that Michael Francis Leahy, son of Mrs. Bridget Leahy, Kilkee, is now serving as a soldier in the 5th Royal Munster Fusiliers, and that Michael Leahy's mother has forwarded to the authorities a birth certificate showing that he was born on 30th May, 1901, and that, consequently, he is not sixteen years of age; and will he say whether, m spite of the requests of his mother, it is intended to keep this boy in the Army?

Mr. MACPHERSON

Inquiries are being made, and my hon. Friend will be informed of the result in due course.

Mr. LYNCH

Will the hon. Gentleman take my reasonable advice and treat this question sympathetically?
