asked the Vice-President of the Department of Agriculture (Ireland) the acreage and total yield of wheat, oats, barley, and potatoes, respectivtly, in Ireland last year; the quantity of oats, barley and potatoes available for seed in Ireland in the coming spring; and upon whose authority a statement emanated from the Department that two horses were sufficient to start 20 acres new tillage?

The answer to the second portion of the question is in the negative. The Department of Agriculture issued no such statement as that alleged in the concluding portion of the question.
