HC Deb 12 February 1917 vol 90 c242
5. Mr. FIELD

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether, in view of the fact that the Government have taken over control of the railways and that members of the Legislatures in the Colonies and other countries have free passes, he will consider the advisability of giving free passes to Members of Parliament who make an application for such facility of travelling to transact national business?

Mr. ROBERTS

I am afraid I do not see my way to recommend such an arrangement.
