HC Deb 12 February 1917 vol 90 c273
62. Mr. NEEDHAM

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether any steps will be taken to see that a suitable expression of the nation's gratitude be given to the relatives of soldiers who have lost their lives in the nation's cause?

Mr. BONAR LAW

This question has been considered by a Committee sitting at the War Office. Certain definite recommendations have been made, to which I hope that effect may shortly be given.

Mr. BUTCHER

Has any decision been arrived at for the issue of a war medal to the relatives of men who have fallen?

Mr. BONAR LAW

That is precisely the decision to which I hope effect will be given.
