§ 71. Mr. ALDEN
asked the President of the Board of Education what percentage of the income of local education authorities as a whole is drawn from Grants by the Board of Education in London, in county boroughs, in other boroughs, and in counties, respectively?

Mr. FISHER
The figures for 1914–15 of the percentage which the Board of Education Grants bear to the expenditure of local education authorities on elementary education are:

London 31 per cent.

County Boroughs 47 per cent.

Other Boroughs and Urban Districts 49 per cent.

Counties 49 per cent.
