HC Deb 26 April 1917 vol 92 cc2558-9
28. Sir THOMAS ESMONDE

asked the President of the Board of Trade if, as the result of his inquiry, Irish fishermen will be exempted, like the Scottish, from the Order securing the prepayment of carriage on goods sent by passenger trains?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the BOARD of TRADE (Mr. Roberts)

The inquiries now being made on this subject are not yet complete, but I will communicate with the hon. Baronet as soon as any decision has been reached.

Mr. O'DONNELL

Is the hon. Gentleman aware that the great possible inconvenience and loss has been caused to fishermen in the South and West of Ireland owing to this Regulation?

Mr. ROBERTS

If they are dissatisfied, the matter can be taken into consideration, and I will do all I can to expedite a decision.
