HC Deb 25 April 1917 vol 92 c2402
88. Mr. MILLAR

asked the number of officials who have been appointed to act under the Coal Controller in Scotland in connection with the new scheme for the State control and management of the mining industry, and the special qualifications and experience in mining possessed by these officials?

Mr. ROBERTS

No officials have been appointed in Scotland to deal with technical mining questions. Two officials have, however, been appointed in Scotland to deal with transport questions affecting the local trade, and they are both gentlemen with long railway experience.
