Mr. HOGGEasked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether cadets of the Aldershot Army Service Corps, Officers' Training Corps, were recently gazetted second lieutenants, whilst cadets of the 6th Army Service Corps, Officers' Training Corps, were gazetted and are still on probation; and, if so, what steps he proposes to take to end the anomaly?
§ Mr. MACPHERSONThe system of gazetting officers on probation was discontinued by Army Order 72 of 1917, and officers recently gazetted from the Cadet Company were not gazetted on probation. The officers of the sixth course of this company will be confirmed in their rank in due course, if recommended.
