§ 7. Mr. RONALD McNEILLasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what arrangements are being made in 2364 consequence of the declaration of war by America for the carrying on of the work of the Commission for Belgian Relief?
§ Lord R. CECILThe Commission still remains in existence, but the work of distribution in Belgium and Northern France is to be undertaken, I understand, by Spanish and Dutch subjects in consequence of the withdrawal from Belgium of the American relief delegates.
§ Mr. McNEILLIs there any truth in the report that Mr. Hoover is to continue in some way connected with it, although, of course, an American?
§ Lord R. CECILI am not quite sure whether that is so or not. Mr. Hoover, as the House is aware, is likely to receive an important position in America, and I should imagine he will not be able to devote a great deal of personal attention to the matter.
Mr. SHIRLEY BENNWill Mr. Hoover remain Chairman of the Neutral Commission which will undertake this work in a neutral port?
§ Lord R. CECILI hope that will be the case.
