HC Deb 24 April 1917 vol 92 c2227
51. Captain BURGOYNE

asked whether any hospital ships were sunk last week; whether they were going to or coming from Europe; how many wounded officers and men lost their lives by drowning; whether any German wounded were on board; and what action the Government proposes to take by way of reprisal?

Dr. MACNAMARA

As regards the first three parts of the question, I would refer my hon. and gallant Friend to the official communication which appeared in the public Press yesterday. As regards the last part of the question, this is a matter for decision by the War Cabinet.
