HC Deb 19 April 1917 vol 92 c1815
45. Sir J. LONSDALE

asked the Prime Minister what steps are to be taken to give effect to the threat of reprisals against Germany for torpedoing hospital ships?

The CHANCELLOR of the EXCHEQUER (Mr. Bonar Law)

Action has already been taken, of which the particulars have been made public, in consequence of the dastardly attacks on hospital ships.

Mr. BUTCHER

May I ask whether these proceedings will be renewed as soon as possible at another place?

Mr. BONAR LAW

I do not think it is desirable to give any information further than is contained in my answer.

Sir C. HOBHOUSE

Has there been any recent loss of hospital ships?

Mr. BONAR LAW

Yes, Sir, and they will be made public in due course.
