HC Deb 19 April 1917 vol 92 c1810
78. Mr. PERKINS

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether, in view of the increasing shortage of foodstuffs for cattle owing to lack of tonnage and the consequent necessity for reducing the head of stock, the Government is taking into consideration the need of developing and using to the full the cold storage system throughout the country?

Captain BATHURST

The question of the adequacy of cold storage is receiving attention. I believe, however, that the accommodation is fully equal to existing requirements, and will prove equal to any demands which are likely to arise in the future.
