HC Deb 19 April 1917 vol 92 c1819
52. Mr. GINNELL

asked the Prime Minister whether the abandonment by the new Russian Government of the purposes of conquest, which the late Russian Government stated had the approval of its Allies, makes any difference in the purposes of conquest of those Allies, especially in the purposes of the British and Italian Governments; and whether the Government of the United States of America has been informed of the present purposes of territorial conquest of all the Allies?

Lord R. CECIL

His Majesty's Government are of opinion that a public discussion of the topics referred to in this question is not in the public interest at present.
