HC Deb 04 April 1917 vol 92 c1282
28. Mr. CHANCELLOR

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether the women volunteering to go to France for National Service have been required to be vaccinated and inoculated; if so, why this is insisted on when it is not compulsory with soldiers; and whether women who have been accepted for service and have refused to undergo these operations will be allowed to proceed to France if in every other respect suitable?

Mr. MACPHERSON

Women who volunteer for France are asked to express their willingness to be inoculated and vaccinated before enrolment. No woman has yet refused compliance.
