HC Deb 04 April 1917 vol 92 cc1262-3
5. Mr. PETO

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether he is able to furnish the name of the captain of the transport "Tyndareus," and whether in future official Reports which are published dealing with similar cases he will follow the naval custom in including the name of the captain unless there may be some particular reason or reasons for not doing so?

Dr. MACNAMARA

The answer to the first part of the question is Captain George Flynn. The answer to the second part of the question is "yes" in cases in which the Admiralty is responsible for publishing the information. As my hon. Friend is probably aware, the communiqué regarding the transport "Tyndareus" was issued by the War Office.
