HC Deb 04 April 1917 vol 92 c1294
75. Mr. WATT

asked why, in appointing a Committee to consider and report on pre-War contracts, he did not appoint any Member of the House of Commons to sit on that Committee in view of the fact that so many men of large commercial experience sit in that House?

Mr. ROBERTS

The commercial members of this Committee were appointed in consultation with the Association of Chambers of Commerce.

Mr. HOGGE

Does that mean that no Members of the House of Commons are left who are able to do that work?

Mr. ROBERTS

I should think that every Member of the House is already fully engaged.
