HC Deb 04 April 1917 vol 92 c1274
68. Mr. OUTHWAITE

asked whether the recent presidential decree prohibiting the export of grain and flour from the Argentine will affect any anticipations as to supplies that would be available from this source for the British market?

Captain BATHURST

The answer to this question is obviously in the affirmative.

69. Mr. OUTHWAITE

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether, if consistent with the public interest, he can state the tonnage of grain and flour lost at sea in transit to the United Kingdom during the last three months?

Captain BATHURST

It is not in the public interest to furnish this information.
