§ 83. Captain WRIGHTasked the Secretary of State for War whether, in view of the anomalies in the promotion of officers in the Territorial Force due to the large increase of that Force, the frequent introduction of Regular officers to take command of units and higher formations, the necessity of employing officers commissioned into particular units in other units, and to the fact that from time to time officers through wounds, sickness, and other causes are brought home, and so miss opportunities of promotion at the front, he will introduce into the Territorial Force a system of regimental promotion under which the above anomalies may be, as far as possible, avoided?
§ Mr. FORSTERThis matter has been under consideration for some time; and it is hoped that new regulations will shortly come into operation.
