Mr. TICKLERasked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware that a firm of Lincolnshire brewers, who hitherto brewed at two breweries but who. since April, 1915, have closed down one of those breweries, and who, under Section 2 of the Output of Beer (Restriction) Act, 1916, have given notice to the Commissioners of Customs and Excise of their intention to restrict their output for the current year to 30 per cent. below that of the year ended 30th September, 1914, have been informed by the Commissioners that, in calculating their output, they will not be allowed to include the barrelage of the closed brewery; and, if so, whether he will say on what grounds the Commissioners' ruling, which has the effect of depriving this firm of the relief given to other brewers by the Section, is based?
