Mr. ANDERSONasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Agriculture whether he is now in a position to state that the shipment of the Australian wheat purchased by the Government will be on terms not more expensive than those made by the Sugar Commission in respect of the importation of sugar; and, if the precedent of the Sugar Commission is to be departed from, whether he will state the reason for such departure and the extent of the extra cost involved?
§ Mr. PRETYMANMy hon. Friend has asked me to answer this question. The subject is under consideration by the Wheat Commission and the Departments concerned. No statement can at present be made, but I can give my hon. Friend a general assurance that tonnage is to be secured on the most economical method.
