29. Colonel GRIFFITHSasked the Secretary of State for War if he will give his careful and immediate consideration with a view to making posthumous grants of the D.S.O., M.C., and other awards in the same manner as the V.C.?
§ Mr. FORSTERI would refer my hon. and gallant Friend to the answer I gave to a somewhat similar question on the 2nd August last which was put to me by the hon. Member for York. The whole matter is exceedingly difficult, but certain proposals are now under consideration.
§ Mr. BUTCHERCould my hon. Friend or the Secretary of State for War tell us what steps have been taken so far for the purpose of considering the matter?
§ Mr. FORSTERI do not know that there is anything very special to say with regard to the steps to be taken, beyond that the matter has received very close attention, and I hope something will be done as a result of that consideration. My right hon. Friend reminds me there is a Committee now sitting on the matter.
