HC Deb 12 October 1916 vol 86 c175

The following question stood in the name of Sir WILLIAM BYLES:

32. To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is aware that Mr. John MacNeill was arrested by Major Price, Intelligence Officer at the Irish Military headquarters, on 2nd May; that he was tried by a private court-martial and sentenced to penal servitude for life; that he is now in Dartmoor Prison and associating with the worst criminals; whether the statement of Mr. John MacNeill is receiving the attention of the Irish Government; and whether Major Price is retained in his responsible position?

Sir W. BYLES

In view of what took place yesterday, I will not put this question.
