§ 24. Mr. RICHARD LAMBERTasked the Under-Secretary of State for Foreign 318 Affairs whether he is aware that Mr. D. Thomas Curtin has had his passport cancelled by the American Government; and, if so, whether, and on what terms, he will be free to leave this country if he so desires?
Mr. HOPEWith regard to the first part of the question I have no official information. The second part should be addressed to the Home Office.
§ Mr. LAMBERTIs the hon. Gentleman aware that a statement to the effect that the passport has been taken away by the American Government appeared in the "New York World," and will he make inquiry?
§ Mr. LAMBERTIs it not rather important that a gentleman whose passport has been taken away by the American Government should not be allowed to enter prohibited areas where no alien is allowed to enter?
Mr. HOPEThe Home Office is quite alive to the situation on the assumption that the passport has been withdrawn.
