§ Mr. FORSTERThe only officers who can be said to lose their regimental promotion on joining the Royal Flying Corps are those of the New Armies. These officers leave their regiments on joining the Royal Flying Corps and are placed on the General List. There is no block of promotion in the lower ranks of the Royal Flying Corps; promotion, on the contrary, is very rapid.
